About Me

Hi, I’m Katie Cenkus

A certified Life, Pain, and Weight Loss Coach.

I teach people how to get out of pain and lose weight for the last time. Through coaching, I help women reduce pain, increase energy, and heal their relationship with food and exercise.

Incorporating psychological tools from life coaching and pain reprocessing therapy with scientific methods in nutrition and exercise, I help you address and understand your health in a new way.

Calories in vs. Calories out

For a lot of my life, food and exercise were pitted against each other. If I ate too much I had to exercise. If I exercised enough I could “cheat” on my diet.

Along my journey, I’ve read every book I could find on health. I got degrees and certifications and learned everything I could about the way our bodies move and the nutrients we need for energy and weight loss.

Even with all this knowledge, I felt like there was something wrong with me. I felt broken because I knew exactly what I “should” do, I just didn’t do it. I still ate sugar and skipped workouts.

Healing Pain

I’ve also struggled with chronic pain since my 20’s – headaches, neck pain, low back pain, and fatigue came and went throughout my 20’s and early 30’s. When my low back pain kept me from being the mother I wanted to be, I went all out to find answers.

I tried everything to heal – doctors, chiropractors, stretching, exercises to strengthen and improve muscle balance, and elimination diets. Nothing worked. I woke up each day praying that the pain would be gone when I got out of bed.

Then I found new neuroscience research and found that my pain was psycho-somatic (meaning mind and body) and neuroplastic (meaning it could be rewired in my brain). It set me into action.

I learned everything I could about neuroscience and how pain is communicated in the body. As I applied these tools my pain disappeared. Using neuroscience tools, I was also able to free myself from other things, like anxiety and fatigue. In the process, I had one more surprising outcome – I freed myself from the pressure I had felt around food and exercise.

Creating a Program that Heals

Through years of study and application, I’ve been able to break free from the toxic mindset I had developed after years of dieting.

Putting together all of my knowledge and experience in exercise physiology, nutrition, and neuroscience, I’ve created a program based on science.
